2011 was indeed a record year for the Apulian airport system, so it is with little surprise that we approach 2012 with another impressive performance in terms of passenger traffic on Apulian soil. Aeroporti di Puglia president Domenico Di Paola delivers an clear-cut report on the past season, and deservedly so: with over 5.8 million passengers, a 15,4% increase over last year’s figures, and the incredibly
positive figures of 2010, Apulian airports are more than ever addressing the international scene, mainly thanks to direct connections to world capitals as
London, Frankfurt, Paris and Zurich. Over 52% of incoming passengers, notes Di Paola, originate from international hubs, another evidence of the efforts made by Aeroporti di Puglia.
