Clean Energy in Apulia Airports
Anticipating what will be the address most common in the supply of energy, the manager of Apulia airports has Installed on Bari and Brindisi airports two plants for the production of renewable energy. The photovoltaic installations, respectively 200 and 300 kW, exploiting solar radiation, produce electricity directly, which is well placed in networks to serve the airport, with a significant reduction of usage of energy produced from the traditional sources - solid and liquid fuels -.
The production of the new plants, among the first made in Puglia, contributes to roughly 30 to 40% the needs of the airports, with economic benefits consequent as well as in terms of killing of the environmental impact of Airports. To give an idea of the value of this action, think that energy "valuable" released by plants in the hour of maximum consumption will amount to one used simultaneously by about one hundred households. The ultimate goal is to build on all the Apulia airports facilities for the production of renewable energy.
