A well-known saying in the aviation business goes like this: “A mile of road will take you exactly a mile but a mile of runway will take you anywhere”. In the Bari airport, this maxim has been interpreted in the best constructive way, as over the last 10 years figures show an impressive growth both in terms of infrastructures and as regards
the number of passengers transiting in Puglia through its capital city.
The recent inauguration of the railway- airport underground in Bari is a clear example of how seriously transportation has been taken by local authorities, and the way all issues are being addressed in spite of the international crisis and the local backlash
of it on Apulian tourism. Which, let us make things clear, has by no way been lessened in the face of a globalized financial crunch.
