Welcome to the land of flying Apulians, and affectionate international visitors as well.
Leveraging on the international celebrity Puglia is having lately, the regional airport system is collecting one record after another: 2010 was a staggering record year for Apulian airports, and it is not at all a kind of self-celebration, as Aeroporti di Puglia managing authority ranked high on the ACI Europe report, the association representing over 400 airports in 46 European countries. To have just a quick hint, let’s take a look at the numbers: in 2010 a total of 5,051,271 passengers transited across Apulian airports, compared with 3,951,805 of 2009, with a net 27,8% increase.
